Physical in-person conferences can be augmented by Web-based ones. We in SAP Marketing had a virtual event last month with almost no travel required. 1,847 people registered from over 50 countries. From what I was told, we avoided more than 12,308 hours and 724,000 kilometers of travel which equals ~500 tons of CO2.

That’s all very well but what about those of us who live in other places that are much harder to get to but arguably a lopt more eco friendly in the first place?
