Tom -- Good topic. I'd happily drive a plug-in hybrid, and the utility here (Austin Energy) has at least talked enthusiastically about the possibilities of them in years to come. It's one of the best examples I can think of where a radically different way of thinking about our vehicle and energy systems **taken as one large whole** leads to profoundly different ways of operating -- and to profoundly different patterns of energy use.
